Kazakhstan seeks to increase trade with Tajikistan up to $2 billion by 2022

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan Askar Tajibayev said that the Kazakh side plans to increase trade with Tajikistan up to $2 billion by 2022, Avesta news agency reports. The annual trade turnover between the countries currently amounts to almost 900 million dollars, he said speaking at the Tajikistan - Kazakhstan Business Council meeting, which is taking place in Dushanbe.
"Now Kazakhstan is the second partner of Tajikistan on trade turnover and we hope that we will be able to get the leading position," the Ambassador noted.
According to the participants of the meeting, there are more than 80 joint enterprises operating in Tajikistan today.
The participants during the event signed bilateral contracts between the Kazakh and Tajik companies.
The event was attended by representatives of leading exporters of Kazakhstan specializing in car manufacture, construction, telecommunication, medicine, agriculture, food industry.
