AKIPRESS.COM - In the first half of 2019, Mongolia traded with 137 countries from all over the world and total trade turnover reached USD 6.8 billion, of which USD 3.9 billion were exports and USD 2.9 billion were imports, Montsame reports.
In June 2019, exports and imports reached to USD 657.6 million and USD 578.7 million, respectively.
Compared to the previous month, exports decreased by USD 75.8 and imports increased by USD 29.9 million.
In the first half year of 2019, total foreign trade turnover increased by USD 492.3 (7.8 percent) million, of which exports increased by USD 357.6 million (10.0 percent) and imports increased by USD 134.7 million (4.9 percent) compared to the same period of previous year.
The 357.6 million increase in exports from the same period of previous year was due to the increases of USD 135.7 million in bituminous coal and USD 51.4 million in gold, unwrought or in semi-manufactured forms exports.
The USD 134.7 million increase in imports from the same period of previous year was mainly due to USD 30.8 million increase in mineral products imports, especially, USD 62.3 million increase in diesel imports and USD 105.9 million increase in transport vehicles and their spare parts.
Exports of mineral products, textiles and textile articles, natural or cultured stones, precious metals, jewelry make up to 95.8 percent of total export. On the other hand, 68.9 percent of imports are mineral products, machinery, equipment, electric appliances, transport vehicle and its spare parts and food products.
