Bishkek, July 19, 2019. /Kabar/. A meeting of the national headquarters for the coordination of the Roadmap on the implementation of the Digital Kyrgyzstan Concept of Digital Transformation was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov.
A number of issues, related to the implementation of the second stage of the Safe City project, connection of social objects and regional subdivisions of public authorities to the Internet, development and implementation of projects in digital transformation were discussed at the meeting with the participation of representatives of public authorities and local self-government bodies, the press service of the Government said.
Kubatbek Boronov noted that the national headquarters was created to speed up the issues of digital transformation and coordination of projects implementation.
"Residents of remote areas, rural areas should feel the simplification of public services. One of the serious issues is the provision of Internet access to the regions. Our main requirement is that every government agency providing services at the district and city levels should be connected to the network," Kubatbek Boronov said, instructing representatives of local authorities to work out issues, related to the provision of the regions with the Internet in cooperation with Kyrgyztelecom OJSC.
Participants of the meeting noted that the city and district digitalization headquarters will be formed, the district heads and mayors of the cities become their heads.
As a result of the meeting, state and local authorities were instructed to start preparing the road infrastructure for the installation and implementation of the second phase of the Safe City project, as well as to begin outreach work in the regions on the implementation of the second phase of the Safe City project.
At present, Kyrgyztelecom OJSC has connected 556 general education institutions, 288 rural districts, 580 medical institutions (hospitals, polyclinics, fuel and lubricants) to the Internet, and started to connect post offices.
By the end of 2019, Kyrgyztelecom OJSC plans to connect 104 additional rural educational institutions, 102 rural districts, 600 medical institutions and 700 post offices.
