Population of Uzbekistan exceeds 33.5 million

AKIPRESS.COM - The population of Uzbekistan made 33.52 million people by July 1 and has grown for 268,100 since the beginning of the year or by 0.8%, CA-News reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee. The urban population made 16.94 million people (50.5% of country population), rural population made 16.58 million people (49.5%).
The most populated regions included Samarkand (11.4%), Ferghana (11.1%), Kashkadarya (9.7%), Andizhan (9.2%) regions.
According to preliminary reports, population under working age made 30.5% by July 1, population of working age made 59.3%, population above working age comprised 10.2%.
