Minister of Digitalization Development of Kazakhstan comments on Internet security certificate

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Digitalization Development, Innovation and Aerospace of Kazakhstan Askar Jumagaliyev has commented on the issue of installation of an online security certificate on smartphones and notebooks of the Kazakhstanis, Tengrinews.kz reports. "How do you think, is it useful for children to see any material of extremist or terrorist nature, pornography?" said the Minister while answering the journalists questions about the need of installation of this certificate.
According to him, the security certificate allows to resolve these issues.
The Minister reminded that installation is carried out on a voluntary basis.
"There are cases when websites are attacked by viruses. The certificate will help you in that," Jumagaliyev noted.
The Minister said that the safety of personal data is guaranteed by the Constitution of the country and the law on investigation activities. Installation will occur in line with the law, he said.
However, Jumagaliyev rejected the information that the certificate is registered to a private person suggesting to address this question to the state technical service.
The Kazakhstanis were earlier asked to install a security certificate for access to Internet.
Last week, telecoms operators in the country started informing users of the "need" to install a new security certificate.
