Shots heard on Kyrgyz-Tajik border during meeting of Interior Minister, Border Service Chief with locals

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 2 or 3 shots were heard in a conflict zone on Kyrgyz-Tajik border from the Tajik side during the meeting of Interior Minister and the Border Service Chief with locals today, Turmush reports. One of the soldiers, reportedly, has his leg wounded.
According to preliminary reports, three citizens, including chief of Aksai local border outpost, received injuries.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Interior Kashkar Junushaliyev, Chairman of the State Border Service Ularbek Sharshenov, regional governor Akram Madumarov and locals.
The Kyrgyz border authorities reported that Aksai residents went angry on July 22 after Tajik citizens set up their flagpole on the disputed territory of the border.
The clash then occurred between Kyrgyz and Tajik people. Some used firearms, which led to several injuries, reports said.
Now the Isfara-Vorukh road is closed. Border authorities of the two countries are their to take some actions for preventing escalation of the situation.
