Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry Visa center opened in Bishkek

Bishkek, July 24, 2019 /Kabar/. The Visa centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic was opened in Bishkek. The new center is designed to significantly simplify the process of obtaining visas for both foreign citizens and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is planned that all procedures will not only be simplified, but also become more transparent, thus reducing corruption risks. In addition, within the framework of the project on digitalization of public services, the time of obtaining a visa will be significantly reduced.
"The opening of the Visa center will take place today, which, first of all, is aimed at simplifying all procedures for obtaining visas by foreign citizens. These activities are carried out under the aegis of the Decree of President of Kyrgyzstan as part of the digitalization of public services, and in this regard, the Foreign Ministry conducts a number of measures to improve the provision of public services to foreign citizens, including Kyrgyz citizens. As you can see, the center meets all the standards. Its work is built on the principle of a unified window. Currently we are carrying out activities to digitalize all services, and we plan to convert all categories of visas into electronic format. Thus, we will move away from paperwork," Almaz Imangaziyev, the director of the Consular Service Department said during the opening of the centre.
Also, the ministry plans to revise the consular fees, which, in turn, will not lead to an increase in the cost of services.
Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov said that the ministry pays close attention to the development of the state tourism industry, attracting foreign guests, tourists, creating favorable and comfortable conditions for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and foreign countries. "At the moment, various measures are being taken to liberalize the visa regime. This year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated the introduction of a simplified visa regime for citizens of a number of countries," he said.
In addition, this year, at the initiative of the Parliament members, the list of countries with visa-free travel to Kyrgyzstan has been expanded, and the law on visa-free travel has been extended until 2025.
