Police disperse initiators of mass disorders with stun grenades in Ak-Sai

AKIPRESS.COM - The Batken region police department commented on information shared by social media users on use of impact munitions by police to disperse citizens of the village of Ak-Sai, Batken district, Turmush reports. The police department said in early hours of July 24 Ak-Sai villagers decided to block the Ak-Sai-Vorukh road. They put up a wooden bars on the road.
At around 11.45 am police officers were meeting locals asking to remove the road blockage. At that time a truck came with the gravel and dumped it right on the road. When police officers tried to warn the villagers against their unlawful actions, villagers began throwing stones into police forces wounding 3 police officers. Police officers had to use stun grenades to disperse the villagers.
The police department said the situation is stable now. The police and local authorities are holding talks with locals to regulate the situation.
