Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan, ADB discuss food safety issues

AKIPRESS.COM - The issues of food safety have been discussed with experts of the Asian Development Bank today in the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry said. The talks were held in the framework of the "Strengthening International Food Safety Standards in Agricultural Value Chains in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Member Countries" project.
The purpose of the technical aid of the ADB is improving health sector and trade of agricultural products in the country.
In her speech, Vice Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Isayeva stressed the importance of development of the food safety for both control over realization of food products on domestic market in compliance with the EAEU requirements, national standards of Kazakhstan and exported products in compliance with the requirements of technical regulations and standards of importer countries.
The second seminar with international experts from New Zealand and India will be held in Nur-Sultan on July 24-25.
The participants will consider the modern food safety system and current problems in this sector.
The first seminar within this project was held in Almaty with participation of representatives of 40 countries of CAREC and local experts.
