Code of Professional Ethics for Journalists approved in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, July 25, 2019. /Kabar/. The regular conference of the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan approved the Code of Professional Ethics for Journalists, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Justice said.
This Code consists of an introduction and 10 paragraphs, under which journalists and all media workers are obliged to observe their professional duties.
To check the reliability of the information disseminated and to provide objective information are the journalist's duty. In case of the dissemination of inaccurate and unsubstantiated information, the journalist should immediately admit his mistake, apologize and take measures to correct it.
The document defines the formation of the Social Council on Mass Media for the purpose of analyzing and giving an opinion on violations of the requirements and norms of professional ethics of a journalist.
