Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan continue border talks

AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov and Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim held another meeting on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border situation, the Kyrgyz government's press service said. The sides reached agreement on reopening of the Batken-Isfana and Isfara-Vorukh roads during the talks.
"Yesterday we held productive talks with the Tajik side on regulation of the border situation. The sides reached agreement on reopening of the Batken-Isfana and Isfara-Vorukh roads for the purpose of stabilization of the situation. The roads have been reopened this morning," Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov said.
The outreach work was carried out among locals to prevent unlawful actions. Additional joint patrols of two countries were deployed. Patrolling of settlements in border areas was stepped up, the Vice Prime Minister siad.
The line agencies are working as normally. The sides continue talks and exchange information on the situation, the government's press service stated.
