China-invested paper production plant to operate in Almaty by end of 2019

AKIPRESS.COM - A paper production plant will be opened in Almaty in December 2019, LS reported. The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan said the production area is under reconstruction to date.
"The launch of the project is scheduled for December 2019. The plant is being built in Almaty. The project costs 2.4 billion tenge," the Ministry reported.
A report earlier appeared that the Chinese paper supplier Qifeng New Material wants to invest in construction of a paper production plant. Kazakh Invest then said the company plans to gradually invest in project $320 million.
The Ministry said the launch of the new paper plant will allow decrease the dependence of Kazakhstan on Russian raw material by 70%.
The plant will produce 70 thousand tons of paper products a year, which are planned to be exported to Central Asian countries.
