AKIPRESS.COM - By summer 2019, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan stood at $318.3 million, which is 10.5% less than a year before, ranking.kz reported. Export to Kyrgyzstan decreased by 16.6% - up to $217.5 million. Import to Kazakhstan from Kyrgyzstan grew by 6.3% amounting to $100.8 million.
To date, the governments of the two countries are making efforts to increase the volume of mutual trade up to $1 billion by 2020, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports.
Kazakhstan mainly supplied animal and plant products within 5 months.
In terms of import, 50.6% of the whole volume of imported goods from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan were mineral products, 16% - animal and plant products.
Kazakhstan plans to increase bilateral trade and develop mutual relations, the report says.
Within the official visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin to Kyrgyzstan, he met with the Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov. They discussed cooperation issues, including the economic and investment spheres. A special attention was paid to development of industrial cooperation, water and energy spheres, strengthening border cooperation and implementation of joint projects in digitalization.
