Bishkek, July 29, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev on the territory of the Altyn Jewelry Plant held a retreat of the Business Development and Investment Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the development of the jewelry industry.
During the visit to the plant, the prime minister got acquainted with the technological process, inspected the mechanical and foundry equipment, the Government’s press service said.
At the retreat of the Council with the participation of representatives of business associations of the jewelry industry were discussed the issues of increasing the competitiveness of domestic jewelry products.
Abylgaziev said that the Concept of development of the jewelry industry of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019-2022 has been recently approved, within the framework of which specific measures to support and develop this industry are envisaged.
The business associations’ representatives raised the issue of exemption of jewelry and other items made of precious metals from testing, analysis and branding by the state assay mark.
The head of the Government informed that within the Eurasian Economic Union the issue of mutual recognition of assay marks is being considered, which will ensure the free circulation of jewelry in the territory of the integration association and eliminate obstacles in mutual trade.
The next step of the EAEU member states will be the creation of a Eurasian jewelry brand, which expands the jewelry market.
"Domestic jewelers have managed to establish production of high quality jewelry, which successfully compete in foreign markets. Our jewelry industry combines the best traditions of the Kyrgyz jewelry art and innovative advanced technologies. The state, together with representatives of business associations, should work out effective measures to support the jewelry industry, where thousands of new jobs will be created, and our companies successfully develops foreign markets, strengthening the export potential of the state," Abylgaziev said.
