Speaker Dzhumabekov visits south of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 30, 2019. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Dastanbek Dzhumabekov met with residents of Nooken region during his working visit to Osh and Jalal-Abad Oblasts.
At the meeting with local residents the speaker told about the activities of the Parliament in the field of lawmaking, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
"During the meetings with the electorate the deputies get acquainted with the problems in the regions, and then discover solutions together with the Government. As a result of such close cooperation many issues can be solved, such as the construction of schools, kindergartens and reconstruction of highways. The Jogorku Kenesh has adopted a large block of draft laws of social importance. In particular, parents of disabled children have begun to receive allowances and wages. New parents are also paid a childbirth allowance. We now need to develop the regions," Dzhumabekov said.
The Nooken region residents raised the issue of reconstruction of the Madaniyat-Jalal-Abad highway section. The speaker said that the Parliament has ratified an agreement with donor organizations regarding the allocation of funds for the reconstruction, and all works on it should be completed by 2021.
The local residents also voiced a number of problems related to drinking water supply, corruption in local self-governance bodies, as well as asked to support the aspiration of young people to realize their potential in work and life in the region.
During his working visit to the south, Speaker Dzhumabekov also familiarized himself with the construction of a general education school in Shalka village. The school is designed for 150 students and construction of the school started in 2016. This year, KGS 5 million has been allocated from the republican budget for the continuation of construction works.
Meetings of the Parliament speaker with the Nooken region population took place within the framework of his visit to Jalal-Abad and Osh Oblasts. Talant Mamytov, the Parliament member also holds meetings with the population.
