Servicemen from Kyrgyzstan take part in equestrian marathon in Mongolia

Bishkek, July 30, 2019. /Kabar/. Representatives of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic on August 3-17, 2019 will take part in the Aravt-2019 equestrian marathon to be held in Mongolia on the basis of the Joint Training Center of the Mongolian Armed Forces within the framework of the 2019 Army International Games.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces General Staff said the Aravt-2019 equestrian marathon is a new type of competition for cavalry units. Aravt translated in Mongolian means the number ten, the main meaning of the name is the subdivision of Genghis Khan’s Mongolian army of ten soldiers.
On July 21, 2019, the Kyrgyz team consisting of servicemen of State Border Service and Land Forces flew to Mongolia and began preparations for the event.
There are two stages to be completed in the training of military personnel. The first stage is the short mixed relay, which includes a number of complex elements: grenade throwing, overcoming an obstacle lane in the unit and firing weapons at targets. The second stage is the equestrian marathon, where soldiers will have to overcome the water barrier and compete in horse handling skills, tactical actions and ammunition transportation. The participating teams also studied and familiarized with military equipment of the Mongolian Armed Forces.
