Deputy Head of national railway company of Kazakhstan apologizes for rape incident in train

AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Chief of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy national company Kanat Almagambetov today publicly apologized in connection with the rape of a girl by conductors during the trip on train last year, NUR KZ reports.
"On the sensational case, I on behalf of the company and myself personally offer an apology, we are very sorry. I think that it was inadmissable. They committed such a cime instead of providing safe trip of passengers. Not only the girl's, but also the employees' reputation was lost," Almagambetov noted.
He said the company hopes a court will render a fair decision against those guilty.
"Such cases must not occur anymore," he added.
Almagambetov said that the company took the necessary measures against all employees responsible for the incident.
Two conductors raped a girl during the trip on September 26, 2018. A court sentenced the two men 2.5 years in prison, which sparked outrage of the society. The hearing on this case was concluded on July 25, 2019.
The raped woman was delivered to the hospital after announcement of the court verdict.
