AKIPRESS.COM - Geological exploration of a gold mine with 5 tons of reserves is under way in Jumgal district of Naryn region, head of the district Adyl Saparov said.
The works are under way in Kara-Keche area near the Baizak village. This site is called Narzan.
In 2014-2015, an auction for this site was won by a Turkish company.
Back in the Soviet times, the geological exploration confirmed that the site has 5 tons of gold reserves, he said.
Today's geological exploration will end in 2020 and after that, question of further development will be solved. The site will belong to the state committee for industry.
As for the environmental issues of development of this site, all the deposits in Jumgal district are located in mountains, glaciers, and springs. "If no substances will be used in mining, then the water will be clean. 90% of the population is informed about the mining issues. The development question will be agreed with the local governments," he said.
