AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov today met Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on working visit, the president's press service said. Prospects of bilateral cooperation in border issues, energy sector, regional and interparliamentary cooperation were discussed.
Enhancement of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation is always given priority in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, President Jeenbekov said.
The President underlined all issues should be addressed on mutually beneficial conditions and expressed hope for further development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan.
The President praised the efforts of the sides in delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border and stressed importance of further expansion of cross-border cooperation.
Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said the governments of two countries work on the issues set by the Presidents, including bolstering bilateral trade up to $1 billion.
