Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Japan Mirlan Arstanbayev met with Osaka Prefecture Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting Arstanbayev noted Osaka Prefecture is one of the largest economic centers of Japan. In this regard, the development of cooperation with Prefecture is important for Kyrgyzstan.
Yoshimura expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between Osaka and the Kyrgyz side. He noted that a number of contacts with the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Japan have taken place in the past. In particular, in October 2018, a joint Trade and Investment Seminar was held with the demonstration of Kyrgyz goods as a unique white whipped honey. In addition, there are companies in Osaka interested in opening a representative office in Kyrgyzstan.
Arstanbayev stressed that the Japanese side will hold upcoming EXPO-2025 exhibition at a high level. He expressed the view that, in advance of the event, Osaka Prefecture would have to carry out extensive work to prepare the relevant infrastructure. In this regard, he noted that the sides could cooperate in terms of attracting labor resources from Kyrgyzstan for these works.
Yoshimura supported the ambassador's initiative and they agreed to continue consultations on this issue at the working level. In addition, the Japanese side noted the importance of continuing joint activities, aimed at promoting the Kyrgyz Republic among the local population and corporations.
On the same day, Ambassador Arstanbayev met with Hiroshi Ozaki, Chairman of the Osaka Prefecture's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and its President, Tsutomu Miyagi. The parties, having discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation, exchanged proposals to hold a number of joint events and agreed to continue consultations at the working level.
Osaka Prefecture is a prefecture located in the Kansai region on Honshu, the main island of Japan. The capital is the city of Osaka. It is the center of Keihanshin area. Osaka is one of the two "urban prefectures" of Japan.
