Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Uzbekistan hold talks in Ankara

AKIPRESS.COM - The first meeting of the joint strategy planning group was held on August 5 in Ankara. The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
The Ministers reviewed the progress of implementation of the agreements reached between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the current bilateral relations in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres in run up to the first Strategic Partnership Supreme Council to be co-chaired by the heads of state.
It was noted that bilateral trade has grown by 40.5% to make $2.172 billion. The bilateral trade totaled $1.142 billion in the first half of the year. The number of Turkish companies grew by 50% and made 1,081.
The agreement was reached to hold the second meeting of the joint strategy planning group in 2020 in Tashkent.
The cooperation program was signed between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Turkey following the talks. The program envisages regular consultations between the Foreign Ministries on trade, investments, tourism, energy sector, transport, security, education and cooperation in the framework of international and regional organizations.
