Int'l workshop for solving problems of people with disabilities held in Osh

Bishkek, Aug.6, 2019. /Kabar/. Osh city hosts an international workshop on "Ways of solving the problems of introduction of habilitation and rehabilitation for people with disabilities in the Kyrgyz Republic", the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development reported.
The main goal of the workshop is the social integration of people with disabilities, taking into account the norms of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The workshop is focused on:
- Developing an inventory and standards of habilitation and rehabilitation services;
- Study of employment problems of persons with disabilities (analysis of accessibility of persons with disabilities to work and employment);
- Compliance with the law by public authorities with regard to direct discrimination against persons with disabilities.
Deputy Minister of Labor Janyl Alybayeva, Director of the Federal Scientific Center for Rehabilitation of Disabled People named after G.A. Albrecht Oksana Vladimirova, employees of the Osh Mayor's Office, the city administration of labour and social development, medical and social expert commission are taking part in workshop.
The workshop is technically supported by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic, and it also will be held in Bishkek on Aug. 20 this year.
