KazMunayGas and Ministry of Ecology of Kazakhstan sign memorandum on cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - JSC NC KazMunayGas (KMG) and the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan on August 6 signed a memorandum on cooperation on environmental protection, KMG reported. The document was signed by Chairman of the Management Board of the KMG Alik Aidarbayev and Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliyev.
The memorandum is aimed at improvement of the quality of environment, provision of environmental safety and strengthening of cooperation. According to the document, the subsidiary companies of the KMG - JSC Karazhanbasmunay, JSC Mangistaumunaygas and JSC Ozenmunaygas - will be obliged to clean the oil contaminated soil and utilize and recycle the wastes placed in the unequipped sludge tanks.
The KMG in accordance to the memorandum, in partnership with its subsidiary companies will provide mandatory conformance with the environmental requirements and standards, hold inventary of wastes, attract modern methods and enviromental friendly technology on waste recycling, reclamation and restoration of oil contaminated soil and so on.
The Ministry in turn will monitor compliance with the enviromental requirements and coordinate implementation of measures on reduction of adverse impact of activities of the company on the enviroment.
