Bishkek, Aug.8, 2019. /Kabar/. The Coordination Commission on Green Economy under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has been established, the relevant decision was signed by Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev.
This decision was made in order to guide and coordinate the activities of the state executive bodies, local-self governments and other stakeholders in the implementation of green economy policy, and establishing the foundation for the introduction of green economy approaches in priority sectors of the country.
Chairman of the Coordination Commission will be deputy prime minister in charge of the financial and economic block and investments, while the deputy chairman will be economy minister.
The Commission will include representatives of state bodies, business, civil society and international organizations.
The tasks of the Commission will be:
- Monitoring the implementation of green economy policies at the national level;
- Assessment of the results of the implementation of the green economy policy;
- Approval of roadmaps.
The Coordination Commission will consider the key issues of the green economy that need to be addressed in a coherent manner at all levels of government.
The Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic is responsible for organizational and other support of the Coordination Commission's activities.
