"Kyrgyzstan has exhausted its revolutions limit," the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev told reporters when he arrived in Kyrgyzstan. TASS reports.
At the same time, the Russian Prime Minister stressed that the detention of Almazbek Atambayev was an internal affair of Kyrgyzstan. But Russia cannot be indifferent to what is happening, because the Kyrgyz Republic is a major partner of the Russian Federation and Russia's friends live here.
"In my opinion, it is obvious that in the 21st century, Kyrgyzstan has already exhausted its revolutions limit, and it will be very bad if these events lead to political, and, therefore, economic instability in the country. It will simply hit a huge number of people who live in this republic, including even an impact on our Eurasian project," said Dmitry Medvedev.
"We are closely watching, I spoke with the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic this morning, and we talked about what was going on. Let us hope that all the procedures that will take place in the future will be based on strict observance of local legislation - both criminal and criminal procedural, as well as the country's Constitution itself, because there are also answers to many of the urgent questions. Everything else is up to our Kyrgyz colleagues," he added.
The Head of the Government of the Russian Federation expressed hope that the events in Kyrgyzstan would not create an unfavorable background for the meeting of the Heads of the EEU Governments. The Russian Prime Minister noted that he was planning to meet with the leadership of the republic on August 9.
"I will meet with the president, then I will talk with the prime minister. Naturally, we will also touch upon these issues," Dmitry Medvedev told.
