Kyrgyz President meets with Armenian Prime Minister

Bishkek, Aug.9, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to take part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
The press service of the Kyrgyz President said that Jeenbekov warmly welcomed PM Pashinyan and noted he is an honorary guest, whom the Kyrgyz people know well and support.
President Jeenbekov expressed confidence that the personal participation of Nikol Pashinyan as the Chairman of the EAEU Supreme Council in the work of today's session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will contribute to the successful integration in the Eurasian space.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted this is his first visit to Kyrgyzstan and expressed gratitude for his hospitality.
"We have a lot of issues that need to be discussed within the EAEU and bilateral relations. This year, our trade turnover is expected to grow despite a very small base in trade and economic relations. There is a potential for the growth of trade turnover for the benefit of the development of our countries. There is need to make full use of the opportunities offered by the Eurasian Union. We have a lot of common interests. The constructive cooperation that exists between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia should be continued," Nikol Pashinyan stressed.
President Jeenbekov and Armenian PM Pashinyan also exchanged views on cooperation within the EAEU, advantages of the GSP+ status, cooperation with the European Union, exchange of experience in the sphere of digitalization, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
