Cholpon-Ata, Aug.9, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev named the main tasks of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
During the extended meeting of the Intergovernmental Council, Medvedev said the common task of all countries is to accelerate the integration processes in the EAEU, to strengthen economic activity and improve the standard of living of citizens.
"About 180 million consumers live in our common market and therefore there should be no obstacles to communication between them. We are for the formation of a single economic space, which occupies almost 20 million square kilometers. This is an impressive figure, which we should not forget," he said.
The head of the Russian government also named the priorities of the Union.
"The first is to complete the internal integration circuit, which requires unifying the legal framework. Over the last 2.5 years, the EAEU Intergovernmental Council has eliminated 37 out of 55 economic and administrative barriers, 5 of which - this year. This is not a bad result. One of the most important achievements is the recognition of veterinary and sanitary control of Kyrgyzstan. This opens up new opportunities for our friends from Kyrgyzstan," Medvedev said.
The prime minister of Russia called as the second task the need the highest standards of goods’ quality in the Union’s space.
"This concerns the protection of the market from unsafe products and work to improve regulations. We look forward to the effective implementation of this year's Traceability Agreement. We continue to monitor the alcohol market. Third, we are creating a common financial market, agreement on which was signed in Moscow. We have developed an action plan, in accordance with which a common financial market should be created by 2025," he added.
The next one- importance is attached to joint work in the field of innovation and high technology.
"We have launched a large-scale project to create a Eurasian industrial cooperation network, which will allow entrepreneurs from our countries to develop cooperation in high-tech areas. Digitalization is important. Fifth, a document on the movement of hazardous waste in the Union's countries has been prepared for signing. It is a permitting document for the movement of such substances and it defines the principle of data exchange on detected abuses and the procedure for interaction between the authorized bodies. Sixth, we need to further strengthen our cooperation with our CIS neighbours. We are also ready for a dialogue with other partners," he concluded.
