Bishkek, Aug.9, 2019. /Kabar/. The extended format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union member states took place in the Ruh Ordo Cultural Center (Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul).
Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev welcomed the participants of the meeting on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake and congratulated them on the jubilee year for the Integration Union in connection with the 5th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union and the 25th anniversary of the idea of Eurasian integration.
"Eurasian integration has been and remains a priority area of the foreign economic policy of the Kyrgyz Republic. Note that since Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU, serious positive results have been achieved, including in the trade, economic and social spheres. New conditions have appeared to stimulate business development due to the abolition of customs, sanitary and phytosanitary controls. Domestic entrepreneurs have been given the opportunity to develop and actively compete on the common platform of the EAEU. The decision taken at the Union’s site to recognize the equivalence of the veterinary control system of the Kyrgyz Republic gave an opportunity and additional impetus to the development of trade and economic relations," Abylgaziev said.
Summing up the interim results, we can safely say that our Union has taken place as a full-fledged and rapidly developing integration association. Over the 5 years of the Eurasian Economic Union's functioning, tangible results of the systematic work of all member states of the organization are noticeable," said Abylgaziev.
The prime minister said for 5 months of this year the trade turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic with partners in the EAEU increased by 5% compared to the same period in 2018.
GDP in the first half of 2019 showed positive dynamics and grew by 6.4%. The industry also grew by 20% in the first half of this year.
PM Abylgaziev said during the meeting, a constructive dialogue on the agenda of the meeting was held in a narrow format and issues related to the norms of distribution of import customs duties, the Agreement on the regulation of the alcohol market in the EAEU and issues, affecting the common financial market, which is planned to be launched by 2025, were discussed.
Abylgaziev invited the meeting participants to the IV International Forum "Eurasian Week – 2019", which will be held on Sep. 25-27 this year in Bishkek and to the Tengri Music Festival international festival of classical and jazz music , to be held this weekend in the Ruh Ordo cultural center.
Then, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Chairman of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council addressed the session.
