April TV channel’s property frozen by court ruling over probe against its owner, Information Department says

AKIPRESS.COM - The Information and Mass Communications Department under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism has made a statement concerning suspension of work of the April TV channel. The Department said the court ruled freezing of property of the TV channel owner - Almazbek Atambayev - who is suspected of coming grave crimes.
"The property of the Media Forum and April TV was frozen not in connection with the editorial policy, content or position concerning the authorities. The April channel is famous of its critical position about the government agencies. For years of its work it as not persecuted for information policy. The property was frozen since the channel belongs to the person, who is suspected of grave crimes," the Department stated.
