Truck from Batken with 44 kg of heroin meant for Russia arrested

AKIPRESS.COM - A truck from Batken with 44.3 kg of heroin meant for Russia was detained on Bishkek-Osh road, Batken internal affairs department said.
Police in Kadamjai district received intelligence information that a Volvo truck was loaded with drugs in Uch-Korgon village and the drugs were meant for Russia and then to European countries.
The truck driver stopped on the Bishkek-Osh road said a man asked him to take 19 tons of peaches, plums and pears to Russia. As a result of the check, police found 93 bags of heroin with total weight of 44.3 kg.
The truck owner was identified as resident of Leilek district, he was announced wanted. Investigation is under way.
