AKIPRESS.COM - The most large-scale environment class was held in Turkmenbashi city on Aug 8 within the Caspian Economic Forum, which was awarded with the Guinness World Records Certificate. The mass lecture brought together 3,000 people, Chronicles of Turkmenistan reports.
35 minute lecture devoted to the topic "Environment and Sustainable Development" was delivered by Amankuli Makhtumov, professor of the Geography Department of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Orient news agency said.
The record was recorded by a Guinness World Records team headed by Sheyda Subashi. There were only three pre-requisites for the record setting: an experienced lecturer specializing in environment, continuous presence of all registered participants at the lecture hall and the class duration of over 30 minutes.
The certificate was scheduled to be presented to Turkmenistan on 11 August but state-run media outlet provided no coverage.
About 20 Guinness World records have been set in Turkmenistan so far. Turkmenistan last received the Guinness Certificate on 28 June 2019 in Akhal for "the first gas-to-gasoline" plant.

On 1 June 2018, pursuant to the decree issued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a cycling training was held in Ashgabat, which was proclaimed by representatives of Guinness World Records the largest cycling awareness-raising event in the world.
