Population of Kazakhstan reaches 18.5 million people

AKIPRESS.COM - The population of Kazakhstan as of July 1, 2019 reached to 18 million 507.9 thousand people increasing by 235.5 thousand people (by 1.3%) than in 2018, the statistics committee of the Ministry of National Economy reported.
The number of urban population amounted to 10 million 816.6 thousand people during the reported period, which is 58.2% of the total population, rural population - 7 million 726.3 thousand people, or 41.8% of the population.
In January-June 2019, 1,702 cases of infant deaths were registered. The number of child deaths this year increased by 4.7% compared to the same period of last year. Infant mortality rate was 8.8 cases per 1,000 live births.
