Kyrgyz vice premier meets with fellows of JDS project of Japanese government

Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2019. / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Altynai Omurbekova met with fellows of the 13th group of the JDS (Japanese Grant Aid) project - state and municipal employees of Kyrgyzstan who are sent to study in Japan, the press service of the State Personnel Service reported.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Yamamura Yoshihiro, the head of the permanent representative office of JICA (Japan Center for International Cooperation) in the Kyrgyz Republic Nemoto Nayuki, and representatives of the State Personnel Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The vice prime minister, seeing off the young civil servants leaving for Japan, advised to receive high-quality knowledge for two years, which will be further used for the benefit of the Kyrgyz state.
"Currently, more and more graduates of the JDS project occupy key positions in the public administration system. This means that the project is effective, the goals and objectives of the project are achieved, many project graduates have the opportunity to realize their potential and put the knowledge into practice," said Altynai Omurbekova.
Since the start of the JDS project, a total of 12 groups of fellows of 191 people were sent from among state and municipal employees of Kyrgyzstan.
Currently, the 13rd group of JDS project scholars has been formed from among state and municipal servants of the Kyrgyz Republic, of which 18 are scholarship holders for master's programs, and 1 scholarship holders for doctoral studies.
The goal of the JDS project is to provide state and municipal servants of the Kyrgyz Republic with the opportunity to obtain a master's degree at universities in Japan to support the policy of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in training personnel and to develop bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
Training is provided in such areas as public administration, international relations, information and communication technologies, economics, agriculture and environmental policy.
