The reports about a native of Kyrgyzstan, a mother of 5 children who was jailed in Egypt appeared online on August 18.
Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that the woman is from Osh region, but now she is a Russian citizen.
She was arrested in Egypt in Mary 2018 on suspicion of extremism during the raid by Egyptian police.
Before Egypt, she lived in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
The work on protection of her interests is carried out by the Consular Office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Egypt, the statement reads.
