Nazarbayev suggests to toughen penalty for defamation

AKIPRESS.COM - The first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev speaking at the extended meeting of the political council of Nur-Otan party called on to harden the penalty for knowingly false defamatory data, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. He ordered the Ministry of Information and Social Development of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev to consider the issue of toughening penalty for defamation.
"The party should initiate adoption of a law on toughening penalty for defamation. No one gave right to offend, carry to an absurdity those things that are happening today," the former President noted.
The agenda of the session includes three issues: process of implementation of pre-election program of the party and execution of decisions of conventions on main directions of the party and changes in the composition of the bureau of the political council.
