U.S. State Department discussing security in Central Asia in Nur-Sultan behind closed doors

AKIPRESS.COM - A C5+1 high level meeting started in Nur-Sultan today, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. The event is attended by Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the U.S. Under Secretary of State.
Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov said the first session will be devoted to the issues of support of economic security and partnership. The moderator is the United States of America, he noted.
"The next session will touch the issues of peace in Afghanistan, where moderator is Uzbekistan. The third session - security issues in Central Asia, moderator - Tajikistan," he noted.
The session is being held behind closed doors.
A C5+1 format meeting is a multifaceted mechanism of cooperation between 5 countries in Central Asia and the U.S. in the field of economy, ecology and security.
