More than 50 supporters of Tekebayev gather near Supreme Court

AKIPRESS.COM - The Supreme Court is hosting a trial of politician Omurbek Tekebayev as the new circumstances of the case were discovered.
More than 50 supporters of the politician gathered near the court building, they were not allowed into the courtroom.
Some journalists were not allowed to attend the trial, too.
The press secretary of the Supreme Court told that only cameramen are allowed in.
Tekebayev was sentenced to 8 years in prison and got his property confiscated after former Russian State Duma member Leonid Mayevsky witnessed that he gave $1 million to Tekebayev to obtain shares in the mobile company Alfa Telecom.
Maevsky himself was taken into custody in 2018 on suspicion of extorting $37.5 million in exchange for unpublicizing defamatory information, according to Russian media.
