Jeenbekov: Regional development policy is aimed at expanding country’s export potential

"The regional development policy is primarily aimed at expanding the export potential of the country, including the processing industry," Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said today, Aug. 21, at the opening of the Sut azyk CJSC dairy processing plant in Naryn town.
The President noted with satisfaction that such enterprises have a positive impact on the social and economic situation in the regions, creating new jobs and points of sale for local farmers and peasants, his press service reported.
Jeenbekov reminded that over the past two years, as part of the implementation of the presidential decree, work has been carried out on the development of the regions, and other benefits have been introduced for agricultural producers.
"As you know, most of the resources of the Guarantee Fund OJSC go to regional projects. Aiyl Bank and RSK Bank have also increased the share of financing of regions and agriculture in particular. To date, more than 60% of their funds are allocated for these purposes. This is primarily aimed at reducing migration, reducing the outflow of population, which is due to lack of jobs. For this purpose, there is need to support rural producers so that local residents have the opportunity to sell their products," the President said.
"We pay great attention to the processing industry; our villages have enough raw materials. With the opening of such enterprises, there is an opportunity to work at home and not to go abroad. It will also give an impulse to the development and attraction of modern technologies in animal husbandry," Jeenbekov stressed.
Sut azyk CJSC enterprise in Naryn town, in the launch of which KGS 100 million were invested, currently processes 3 tons of milk per day. Its total production capacity allows it to process up to 150 tons of milk per day.
President Jeenbekov said the plant will become a major point of sale of milk in Naryn Oblast.
