Bishkek, Aug.22, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Aug. 21 Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) hosted the C5+1 Central Asia-U.S. High Level Meeting to discuss political and security challenges of common interest, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov.
U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov, Tajikistan Sirodjidin Mukhriddin, Turkmenistan Raşit Meredow, Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, and Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov exchanged views on efforts to support economic security and partnership, address regional security issues and promote peace and prosperity in Central Asia and neighbouring Afghanistan.
The sides discussed the planning of the next C5+1 Ministerial Meeting and noted the ongoing activities of the C5+1 Working Groups on Security, Economic Relations and the Environment.
