48 enterprises opened in Batken Oblast since beginning of year

Bishkek, Aug.22, 2019. /Kabar/. Since the beginning of the year, 48 enterprises have been opened in Batken Oblast, 23 of which are of industrial character, Akram Madumarov, the Governor of Batken Oblast told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He noted that 43 facilities were opened in 2018, of which only 10 were industrial.
"Batken oblast is beginning to focus on industry, i.e. not only on agriculture and services. More than 450 mining licenses have been issued. There's really a lot of coal in Batken’s Sulukta town, and it’s being exported," Madumarov explained.
Besides, the governor said that work is under way to process agricultural products.
"Batken Oblast produces a large volume of agricultural products, especially in Kadamjay region. More than 70% of exported agricultural products are from Kadamjay region. We also grow more than 5,000 tons of rice," he added.
