Bishkek, Aug. 22, 2019 / Kabar /. The most remote city of Kyrgyzstan, Suluktu in Batken Oblast will be fully provided with drinking water by the end of the year, Mayor of Suluktu Rakhmanberdi Abdynazarov told reporters at Kabar News Agency.
He noted that within the framework of the ARIS (Community Development and Investment Agency), a project was being implemented to supply the city with drinking water. "By the end of the year, each house will be provided with drinking water," he said.
In addition, Abdynazarov said that the city is mainly engaged in coal mining. "This year we have planned to produce 230 thousand tons of coal. For 7 months we have already produced 133 thousand tons, which is 10 thousand tons more than last year. We export mined coal to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan," he added.
The mayor said that this year Suluktu received KGS 250 million in the form of investments.
"Due to this, new enterprises are opened," he added.
The mayor also added that as part of the country's digitalization, all schools in Sulukta are provided with the Internet.
