Bishkek, Aug. 22, 2019 / Kabar /. Trainings are being held in Bishkek for employees of state bodies and local self-government bodies, law enforcement agencies and security agencies on the topic "Preventing and countering radicalism and extremism in the Kyrgyz Republic", the press service of the State Commission for Religious Affairs (SCRA) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The training is conducted by the SCRA of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Center for the Study of Religious Situation of the SCRA of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the State Agency for Local Self Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations.
This training is organized in order to strengthen the skills and potential of state bodies, law enforcement agencies, local authorities in preventing the spread of radical and extremist ideologies, as well as on specific issues of countering extremism and terrorism for law enforcement agencies, through the development of training materials and training of government officials and self-government bodies, law enforcement and security agencies in all regions of the republic.
This training is carried out as part of the implementation of the Concept of the state policy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the religious sphere for 2014-2020 and the Kyrgyz government’s anti-extremism and terrorism programs for 2017-2022.
The training partner is UNDP in the framework of the project "An inclusive system of governance and justice to prevent violent extremism."
