Wild fire causes 221 million tenge damage to Kazakhstan since beginning of 2019

AKIPRESS.COM - The total damage from wild fire in Kazakhstan since the beginning of this year amounted to 221.2 million tenge, Informbureau reported with reerence to Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Erlan Nysanbayev.
According to him, there were 499 cases of forest fire on the territory of 65,437.6 ha this year. This is 1.8 times more than last year.
329 people, 60 units of equipment, 4 helicopters were involved in fire fighting on the territory of the Karkaraly National Park. The fire was isolated on August 19. The total area of flame was 3,700 ha, Nysanbayev noted.
Inspectors in cooperation with the law enforcement bodies conducted about 12,000 raids and revealed 189 cases of illegal forest felling since the beginning of this year.
