Chui Oblast, Aug.23, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Chui Oblast, where the majority of its inhabitants have their own plots of land, always needs a well-organized irrigation system. Therefore, the issue of construction of canals and ditches in the region is always relevant.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov's decree on the development and digitalization of the regions is being successfully implemented by local governments.
Thus, Turusbek Nogoyev, the Jaiyl region head said there is clean drinking water in more than 30 villages in the region. At the moment, he said, additional funds are being actively sought to provide clean and irrigation water to other villages in the region.
"In total, KGS 10 million has been allocated to replace obsolete pipes over the past year. And in the village of Sary-Bulak a new ditch length of 1 km 900 meters was built, which is to cover more than 150 homestead lands with irrigation water. The total estimated cost of the project amounted to KGS 3 million 100 thousand. The 8-km long canal in Sosnovka village has also been cleared, which will facilitate the irrigation of land," he admitted.
As a proof of the works, the region head showed the water intake under construction with the capacity of 1000 cubic meters of reservoirs in Alekseyevka village. The project that is being implemented with the support of the World Bank provides for the coverage of 37 km of water pipes, 36 of which have already been laid.
A similar water intake station was built in Kaptal-Aryk village of Panfilov region. In this village, 57 km of pipeline have already been laid, and the total estimated cost made KGS 170 million.
Old water towers are also being repaired in the oblast. In Sary-Jon village of Ysyk-Ata region, an additional water intake station was repaired with the support of the AL-SAFA Kuwaiti Foundation. And a new water tower in Vasilyevka village, Alamudun region was built for KGS 5 million.
