AKIPRESS.COM - The detained driver of the former Deputy Minister of Interior of Kyrgyzstan Kursan Asanov has no complains, Director of the Torture Prevention Center Nurdin Sulaimanov told AKIpress on August 26. Sulaimanov visited the detention center in Bishkek police department, where the 22-year-old Paizylda uulu Damirbek is staying. According to Sulaimanov, no signs of torture were found on the body of the detainee, who had no complains about law enforcement officers.
"Reports about alleged torture of Damir appeared on social media. I responded to this message and headed to the detention center. Damir told me that he was detained, when he was at work and wore a police uniform. Upon arrival of the police of Bishkek, he was called and asked to change his clothes. The only thing was that he was shocked. There are no other complains," Sulaimanov noted.
During the investigation on August 23, Paizylda uulu Damirbek was placed in the detention center of the Bishkek police on suspicion of complicity in illegal handover of documents to the allies of Almazbek Atambayev and other subjects important for the criminal probe. The Pervomay district court ruled on August 25 to keep the detainee in pre-trial detention center until October 23.
