President Mirziyoyev takes selfie with bloggers coming to Samarkand for International Music Festival

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met local and foreign bloggers, who arrived in Samarkand for the International Music Festival Sharq Taronalari (Tunes of the East) on August 26. The President took a selfie with bloggers. "Uzbekistan is opening up for the world and wants to bring all truth to the international community lately. The most important is that it is possible to hold discussions, to criticize," President Mirziyoyev said.
The President noted a role of bloggers in coverage of ongoing reforms in the country, promotion of culture and historical heritage at international level. The openness policy of Uzbekistan will be continuned, the President said.
"I am very glad to see you here on Uzbek soil, in the ancient cradle of civilization - Samarkand. Today we write a new history of Uzbekistan. Our goal is to provide comfortable life for people. Hopefully, you will make your contribution," Mirziyoyev said.
"I see our bloggers here. I am proud of that. Please know the President will always support you," President Mirziyoyev emphasized.
On August 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Samarkand to attend the opening ceremony of the International Music Festival Sharq Taronalari.
UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay arrived in Samarkand earlier to attend the international conference on preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The UNESCO Director General met President Mirziyoyev and opened the International Music Festival.
According to the Ministry of Culture, musical ensembles and vocalists from 32 countries are participating in the Festival this year. Contestants from Argentines, Myanmar, Fiji are participating in the festival for the first time.
The grand prize of the festival will make $10,000. The first prize will make $5,000, the second prize - $3,500, the third prize - $2,000.
