Bishkek, Aug.27, 2019. /Kabar/. In 2020 schools in Kyrgyzstan are planned to be equipped with computers by 100%, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic is discussing new projects with the World Bank and the European Union, within the framework of which it is planned to equip schools with computer equipment by 100%.
These measures are being implemented as part of education’s digitalization and preparation for the implementation of the New School - School of the Future educational concept, developed by the Education Ministry.
At present, work on the connectedness of schools in the country is being completed, and 94.7% of schools in Kyrgyzstan have already been connected to the Internet.
Since 2017, the full-scale digitalization of schools has been started with the funds, allocated by the Government from the republican budget.
To date, 2 thousand 106 public schools have been connected to the Internet. Another 31 schools require connection via wireless (satellite) communication. At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Science together with Kyrgyztelecom is working to switch all schools on a single provider to ensure broadband Internet.
