Bishkek, Aug.31, 2019. /Kabar/. Today, Aug. 31, in the Ala-Too central square in Bishkek Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on Independence Day.
The President sincerely congratulated all the citizens of Kyrgyzstan on this holiday and noted that freedom is a great treasure, achieved through the blood of ancestors, passed down from generation to generation.
"The modern generation has a great deal of happiness to live and work in an independent country that has gained sovereignty 28 years ago. Therefore, today's independence is not only our achievement. It has been achieved through the blood of our ancestors, the tears of our mothers. Independence is the result of centuries of struggle of many generations. It is a legacy that we have inherited from our ancestors, which we must protect as the apple of our eyes and pass on to the next generations. Manas (the Kyrgyz hero) bequeathed to preserve and increase the unity of the multinational people, who are called upon to become a vivid example of peace and harmony, indestructible unity" Jeenbekov said.
Jeenbekov stressed unity is the most important thing for the prosperity of the country.
"We know from history that when unity and cohesion reigned in society, we became a strong and prosperous state. Conversely, the lack of cohesion led to numerous deprivations, loss of statehood and freedom. But even in the most difficult times, there was hope for independence, to become an independent state. We have strengthened our statehood and taken our rightful place in the world arena," he said.
The President stressed only the people are the true bearers of power, independence and state.
Annually, on Aug.31, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Independence Day of the Republic. On that day, in 1991, an extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan adopted a resolution on the "Declaration on the State Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic". According to this historic act, the Kyrgyz Republic was declared an independent, sovereign and democratic state.
