Kyrgyzstan to receive loan to improve rural water supply in two oblasts

Bishkek, Sept.2, 2019. /Kabar/. The Budget and Finance Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved the draft law "On ratification of the Credit Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Development Bank regarding the Improvement of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation in Batken and Talas Oblasts project".
The draft law is aimed at improving and expanding access to reliable water supply services, improving sanitation services in selected villages and strengthening the capacity of institutions in the water and sanitation sector.
The total amount of the project is USD 20 million. The loan is granted for 30 years, including 10 years grace period, with interest rate of 0.75% per annum. The project implementation period is 4.5 years.
