AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan this year is reducing its plan on export of grain and flour by 2-2.5 million tons due to a good harvest in the neighbor countries, Vlast.kz reports.
The Ministry of Agriculture initially planned to export about 9 million tons of grain in 2019-2020, however, Minister Saparkhan Omarov at the government meeting on Tuesday said only 7 million tons will be exported.
"First, due to the weather conditions, we will get less harvest," he told journalists after the session commenting on decrease of export.
Then, he noted that all neighbor countries this year collected a good harvest.
Regarding the export of grain and flour to China, Chairman of the National company "Food Contract Corporation" JSC Rinat Akberdin said that export increases to China every year. In 2018, Kazakhstan supplied 600,000 tons against about 300,000 tons in 2016, he noted.
